Your Mission: Senior SEO Strategist

As our Senior SEO Strategist, your primary focus will be executing and following through with content strategy tasks for clients and onboarding new clients. You will work closely with the SEO Team Lead and Senior SEO Specialist to integrate new clients smoothly into our processes and ensure that clients receive consistent, high-quality service that aligns with their goals.

Your role will involve deeply understanding our clients' unique objectives to craft sophisticated SEO strategies that enhance their success in the digital landscape. Profound knowledge of both local and national SEO is crucial. You must identify SEO opportunities, strategize new content and analyze the old to garner the results our clients need. This involves advanced keyword research, understanding of UX and SEO copywriting (what makes something rank?), and the ability to evaluate existing pages to find opportunities for improvement. 

Additionally, you will need to know when to discuss Technical SEO issues with our SEO Analyst, Senior SEO, SEO Team, and SEO Developer. If you notice something is not ranking where it should be, the ability to conduct advanced problem-solving while collaborating with a team of incredible people is a must. 

This client-facing role also includes pioneering innovative processes that empower our team of writers and editors to produce content that is impactful and true to each brand’s identity. Leveraging a data-driven approach, you will work closely with our SEO Analyst to monitor and analyze ROI to make strategic adjustments that enhance content performance. You will conduct comprehensive audits of client websites to guarantee that SEO Guidelines are consistently adhered to, thereby maintaining uniformity and integrity across all platforms.

Senior SEO Strategist |  Responsibilities 📈

Content Strategy 📝

• Develop content strategies for RGX clients, following guidelines from the Senior SEO Specialist.
• Create content planning notes, writer and publisher instructions, suggest page URLs.
• Complete all necessary fields in content templates.
• Trigger internal linking updates for publishers when new location pages are added to the client's website, informing them of manual updates needed.

Onboarding Process 🔍

• Conduct SEO content website audits and identify page cannibalization.
• Ensure the completion of tasks created by the Senior SEO Specialist, including specialist blog pages audit and de-indexing unfit pages.
• Manage redirects and internal linking, ensuring clear instructions for publishers and the dev team.
• Conduct New Client Interviews during onboarding: Full list of services, location confirmation, persona questionnaire.

New Navigation Planning 🗺️

• Plan and strategize new navigation and page nesting in Octopus.
• Trigger tasks post-nesting and add deoptimization/cannibalization fixes in content planning notes.
• Notify Content Production Specialists to assign tasks.

Octopus Management 🐙

• Manage the client’s visual sitemap as content strategy evolves.
• Update items in Octopus as pages are updated and created.

User Intent & Research 🔎

• Conduct audits on the Writer & Editor POD work to understand user intent utilization and provide guidelines.
• Research Google Core Updates, understanding the nature, impact, and recovery strategies from negative impacts. Focus on monitoring tools and ongoing education for continuous improvement.

Team Collaboration and Problem-Solving 🤝

• Collaborate with team members, identify blockers, and resolve issues internally or with assistance.
• Attend team and cross-team meetings, engage in process improvements within the SEO team, and solve cross-department issues.
• Train RGX team members as needed.

Tools & Technology 🛠️

• Utilize tools such as Semrush, Screaming Frog, Lucky Orange, Google Analytics 4, Service Titan, Psono, Ahrefs, SEO Meta in 1 Click, Google Suite, FIGMA, Google Search Console, Google My Business, Google Trends, Answer the Public, Octopus, Google Pagespeed Insights, and Browseo.
