Software Engineer Level 3

Description

Owler is a Meltwater product which provides firmographic information and news on over 14 million companies and growing. We supply this data through our website, emails, APIs and various integrations for free for users with limitations and via our Owler Pro and Owler Max products. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, engineer to work on the web services and background processing tasks that make this possible and make Owler a leader in Sales Intelligence tools.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and actively contribute to complex architectural decisions aimed at achieving exceptional reliability, availability, and scalability.
• Devise and create innovative solutions, along with constructing reusable libraries for future implementation.
• Formulate intricate algorithms and design patterns, fostering the development of reusable code.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, quality engineering, and development, ensuring the delivery of a top-tier product.
• Uphold and redefine best practices within the software development life cycle (SDLC), encompassing areas such as code review, unit testing, functional automation, user story analysis, and continuous integration.

Required Skills and Experience:

• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in software design, development, and algorithmic solutions, utilizing web development frameworks.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Java including JVM, garbage collection (GC), memory management, and code refactoring.
• Proficiency in both NoSQL databases like MongoDB and relational databases like MySQL.
• Proven expertise in constructing expansive service-oriented or microservice-based platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience working across multiple cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Proficient in technologies including Spring, Spring Boot, Redis, and Solr.
• Excellent command of thread and heap dump analysis, along with proficiency in utilizing both commercial and open-source code profiling tools such as JProfiler, JVisualVM, and JMC.
• Exhibit strong logical and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrate effective English communication skills.

This position is located in Coimbatore, India with a primarily remote work environment but we do require availability for you to report to our offices on an as needed basis.
