Lumine's Service Management (SM) Group Group is responsible for acquisition support, integrating, and managing the ongoing operations of the Businesses within its global portfolio.

The SM Group Director who will have overall responsibility for the financial operations of the group, including finance & accounting, compliance with statutory requirements, corporate governance, risk management and legal of a Group of companies. This role is eligible for permanent remote work status.  

Position Overview:  

As Director of the SM Group, you will have overall responsibility for the financial operations of the business, including finance & accounting, compliance with statutory requirements, corporate governance and risk management. This position is right for you, if you are results-oriented, have a high level of energy, have high attention to detail, and can communicate concisely.   

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: 

 

Management 

  • Support CEO and functional managers to develop clear business plans, priorities and forecasts in line with +/- 5% forecast accuracy targets;  

  • Lead a finance team that delivers excellent pro-active service to its stakeholders  

  • Provide strategic financial leadership on issues affecting the business 

  • Recommend and lead efforts to improve ROIC (return on invested capital), working capital and/or growth performance 

 

 

 

Finance & Reporting 

  • Accountable for accurate and timely monthly/quarterly consolidated financial reporting to ensure compliance of internal and external reporting and requirements in accordance with IFRS  

  • Responsible for the accuracy of revenue recognition, comfortable operating under IFRS15/ASC606, including being accountable for project accounting and controlling 

  • Monitor and input on key metrics of individual customer contracts 

  • Monitor and enforce Key Performance Indicators (KPI)  

  • Ownership of Manage ‘Quarterly Strategic Review’ (QSR) process, using extensive Excel modeling, pipeline and costs analysis to prepare a robust forecast 

  • Ensure execution of action points from the QSR review process 

 

Governance & Risk 

  • Apply best practices to processes, people and systems to affect revenue, profitability and cash-flow, to improve operating efficiency and performance. 

  • Lead and implement introduction of new systems and processes such as new financial systems, expense management and other reporting systems 

  • Responsible for Risk Management process review, effective internal controls, policy standardization and process improvements. 

  • Responsible for intercompany transactions and transfer pricing documentation 

  • Oversee and improve effective administration processes and systems for company records and contracts. 

  • Stay abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the finance functions. 

 

Legal 

  • Work closely with all functional leads to ensure projects bids and contract terms, financial and otherwise, adhere to corporate parameters. 

  • Coordinate all legal activities with VP Group Finance 

 

Skills & Competencies:  

  • Professional Accounting Designation is required (CPA or equivalent) 

  • Minimum 6+ years of progressive financial experience  

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications under IFRS 

  • Proven track record of progressive financial experience in a leadership role and managing a team 

  • Software industry experience an asset 

  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and presentation) with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels 

  • Works collaboratively by consulting with employees, colleagues, partners, clients, users, and stakeholders 

  • Ability to handle a demanding work schedule and manage time effectively to meet deadlines 

  • Experience in an international/global business, handling multiple stakeholders and currencies an asset 

  • Strong analytical skills in combination with strategic, action-oriented mindset 

  • Hand-on contributor in all aspects of the finance function 

  • Team player and outstanding ability to work with and through others 

  • Humility, curiosity, and ability to investigate and learn new domains and technologies 

  • Ability to travel internationally post COVID-19 (up to 25%)
