ABOUT THE ROLE
The Finance Director within Peak Mining will be responsible for managing the divisional finance responsibilities. You’ll work closely with the Group’s business partners in the areas of FP&A, Controlling, Accounting and Tax and will be responsible for the finance strategy, budgeting, and financial business planning. We are seeking a senior finance professional with solid US accounting knowledge, preferably transaction or M&A experience and familiarity with crypto, mining, or blockchain is a big plus. Furthermore, you’ll bring strong interpersonal skills and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, bringing a quantitative, numbers-driven approach to decision-making. Experience in working for a US publicly listed company are a big plus and this role offers significant growth opportunities to build a lean finance team in the US. You will act as business partner, reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide strategic financial leadership to the divisional leadership team, aligned with the company's long-term goals, overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and/or IFRS.
Lead and participate in strategic transactions, mergers, and acquisitions, conducting financial due diligence and driving post-merger integration processes.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance finance team culture, working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve overall corporate goals, and providing mentorship and guidance to finance team members.
Be actively involved in day-to-day financial operations, ensuring a hands-on approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Utilize a numbers-driven and quantitative approach to financial analysis, implementing data-driven decision-making processes throughout the finance function.
Bring expertise in the crypto, mining, or blockchain sectors, staying informed about industry trends, and incorporating relevant knowledge into financial strategies.
EXPERIENCES & SKILLS
10-15 years of relevant experience in finance roles, with a proven track record of success in a senior finance leadership role.
Expertise in developing and executing financial strategies that align with organizational objectives, driving sustainable growth.
Strong analytical skills, adept at financial modeling, forecasting, and interpreting complex financial data to inform strategic decisions.
Thorough understanding of financial regulations, compliance standards, and reporting requirements.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
Extensive experience as a Director of Finance (or comparable) in preferably a publicly listed company
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
Experience in transactional finance, mergers, and acquisitions
Hands-on mentality with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Familiarity with crypto, mining, or blockchain industries (a plus)
High ethical standards and integrity in financial management practices
Home location: Eastern time zone states is strongly preferred.
Work environment: Fully remote
Travel: less than 10%
