Finance Director

About Us: 

Terminal builds software that digitizes, indexes, and automates the yard, leveraging best-in-class machine learning. Our platform provides warehouse operators with the intelligence needed to optimize their usage of trucks, trailers, chassis, containers and personnel. These are the fundamental operating assets of commerce - and represent the last great frontier of untapped data. In the process, Terminal will address many industry-wide pain points, including compliance, manual processes, equipment location, phantom costs, and labor inefficiencies. Ultimately, Terminal will become the central nervous system for the yard, seamlessly connecting all data sources to support an extensive range of essential functions. 

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day financial operations including financial reporting, ledger management, payroll, and adherence to accounting policies.

• Prepare accurate monthly financial reports and statements, ensuring they reflect the company's financial status.

• Lead financial audits, implement system improvements, and maintain compliance with financial objectives and regulations.

• Oversee tax filings and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.

• Optimize procurement processes and the payroll function to ensure cost-efficiency and policy compliance.

Requirements:

• Must be based in Austin, TX or willing to relocate.

• 5-7 years of experience in finance management or a similar role.

• Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and the month-end/year-end process.

• Proficient in accounting software, with a keen attention to detail.

• Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage financial operations effectively.
