Position Overview**

Are you a detail-oriented self-starter with a passion for finance and publishing? We're seeking a Junior Financial Analyst to join our team and support our dynamic Crown division. In this role, you'll collaborate with our finance team to manage day-to-day operations and provide invaluable insights for our growing imprints. Responsibilities**

  • Conduct detailed analyses of sales, expenses, and other financial metrics during monthly closings.
  • Prepare comprehensive summaries of financial performance and key indicators for internal teams.
  • Assist in analyzing travel and marketing expenditures on a quarterly basis.
  • Contribute to formal forecasts using Anaplan software for corporate submissions.
  • Provide postmortem analysis of previous acquisitions/publications to inform editorial decisions.
  • Support production staff in print and reprint decision-making through insightful analysis.
  • Aid marketing staff in updating budgeting systems for effective campaign management.
  • Enhance and expedite monthly reporting and analysis using software skills such as Microsoft Power BI.

Requirements

  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of financial principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel (including vlookups and pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail coupled with the ability to grasp the big picture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred; other relevant backgrounds considered.
  • Prior work experience in a related field is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft PowerBI, Anaplan, and SAP is a plus.
  • Passion for the publishing industry and a love for books are highly desirable.

Salary Range: $58,000 - $60,000 annually **
