As a Key Account Manager on the McDonald’s North America Team, you will be responsible for strategically developing and maintaining long-term relationships with one of our key clients to ensure their satisfaction, loyalty, and continued business. This role involves understanding the client's needs, coordinating with internal teams to meet those needs, and managing the overall account strategy. You will drive collaboration with cross-functional teams, leverage technical strategy and best practices, and lead the successful execution of projects. In this role, you will further develop technical subject-matter expertise while contributing significantly to MFT’s growth and innovation.

What You’ll Do

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships across the McDonald’s System through analysis, networking, outreach and follow up; actively re-engaging and rebuilding past partnerships.

  • Act as a main point of contact between the company and the client.

  • Understand the client's business objectives and challenges.

  • Proactively work with Operators in the field to drive engagement, learnings, and adoption of MFT products & services.

Commercial Strategy:

  • Develop and execute account plans that align with McDonald’s goals and the company's objectives.

  • Identify growth opportunities within the account and devise strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.

  • Work trade shows and attend customer meetings as required.

Product Knowledge:

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of products, services, brand standards, competitors, marketing plans, strategies, programs, and promotions. Provide input to product development teams based on client feedback and market insights.

Communication:

  • Regularly communicate across the McDonald’s System to ensure their needs are met and any issues are addressed promptly.

  • Provide clients with updates on products, services, and industry trends.

  • Investigate and manage resolution of conflicts and handle client complaints in a professional manner

Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with internal teams, such as sales, marketing, product development, and customer support, to meet client needs and expectations.

  • Ensure seamless delivery of products or services to the client.

Account Analysis:

  • Analyze account performance, including revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

  • Use data and insights to make informed decisions and adjustments to account strategies.

Forecasting:

  • Prepare sales forecasts and track progress toward revenue targets.

  • Provide regular reports to management on the status of key accounts.

Contract Management:

  • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements.

Market Knowledge:

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitors' activities that may impact key accounts.

  • Provide critical market insights, trends, and information on competitors and buyer activities to the company.

Skills/Experience We’re Looking For

  • Proven success in account management sales and generating new business, preferably with McDonald’s and the Restaurant / QSR Channel.

  • Proven experience and established relationships with McDonald’s Headquarters (MHQ), kitchen equipment supplier Groups (H&K, Franke, KBI), the Co-Op Groups, and Owner/Operators across North America.

  • “Direct-Selling” skillset with the ability to grow revenue in the field, find new business, and meet financial targets.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and other relevant tools.

  • Mindset for growth, resilience, adaptability and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (a master's degree may be preferred in some cases).
