About the role

Our Risk team sits at the very core of Revolut. Those special agents work across functions, products, and regions to monitor front-line performance and ensure that the business is on safe footing. People in the Risk team are among the first in the company to get involved in new business initiatives, from App Technology, through Treasury and Finance, to Customer Support 💫

The Model Risk Management team’s focus includes algorithmic trading risk across FX, Cryptocurrencies, and Commodities. With algorithmic trading's profound impact on market fairness and transparency, we adhere to stringent regulations in the locations where we operate.

As our customer base continues to grow, the use of algorithms for trading has also increased. To support this growth, we are expanding our team.

We're looking for an Algorithmic Trading Risk Manager who's passionate about leveraging advanced analytics and both quantitative and qualitative assessment techniques. Ideal for experts in algorithmic strategies, market risk analysis, and trading compliance, this role demands a deep dive into the intricacies of automated trading systems. If you excel in optimising trading algorithms, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating trading risks, and are keen on applying your expertise to refine our algorithmic trading frameworks, this position is tailored for you.

What you’ll be doing

• Ensuring strict adherence to local and international standards such as MiFID II/MiFIR, UK PRA, and FCA guidelines, or other equivalent regulations

• Identifying and addressing the inherent risks of algorithmic trading, safeguarding investor and customer interests

• Enhancing the clarity and transparency of our algorithmic trading processes, from development to deployment and monitoring

• Reviewing and approving algorithms before deployment, assessing suitability, risk, and compliance

• Establishing and enforcing pre-trade risk limits across trading algorithms, ensuring alignment with our algorithmic trading risk appetite

• Continuously monitoring trading systems for compliance, unusual activity, and risk mitigation

• Maintaining comprehensive records of algorithmic trading activities, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements

What you'll need

• A solid understanding of algorithmic trading systems and the regulatory landscape in the EU, UK, and US

• 6+ years of experience in risk management within algorithmic trading, including familiarity with key regulations and standards

• Proficiency in risk assessment tools and the ability to work closely with trading and development teams to ensure compliance

• Impeccable analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex information effectively to senior management and regulatory bodies

Nice to have

• Experience with FX, Cryptocurrencies, and Commodities markets

• A background in developing or managing trading algorithms

Compensation range

• Lithuania: €4,800 - €5,000 gross monthly*

• Other locations: Compensation will be discussed during the interview process

*Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and previous experience
