Job Description

Join a world-class academic healthcare system, Ingalls Memorial Hospital , as a Sr. Financial Analyst in the Financial Planning department. This role is a hybrid remote opportunity with at least 2 days a week in office (Tuesdays and Thursdays). The office location is in Harvey, IL at Ingalls Memorial Hospital. **

Job Summary:**

The Sr. Financial Analyst position plays and integral role in assisting the management team in developing, implementing and monitoring strategic decisions. The Financial Analyst will collaborate closely with the management team by providing objective data and analysis that enables leadership to surface issues, make informed decisions, and achieve strategic goals. Provides timely, accurate and informative analyses of the current status and forecasting results of operations, including clinical activity, revenues and expenses. Works collaboratively within a cross-functional team to develop and maintain labor management and productivity systems. The Financial Analyst measure strategic and operational performance and targets and communicates routinely to management. The Financial Analyst will oversee decision support and POP Health Analytics and is responsible for the direction and oversight of analytics, reporting and research to support clinical, financial, and user reporting, product development and business and financial strategy. **

Essential Job Functions:**

  • Works collaboratively with other areas on the development of both internal and external business plans for inclusion in the long term financial forecasts. Oversees approved business plans including into the current year operating budget.
  • Provides timely, accurate and informative analyses of the current status and forecasting results of operations including clinical activity, revenues and expenses.
  • Works in collaboration with various departments in the development and implementation of Labor productivity system. Assists in the development of operations reporting of Labor productivity.
  • Partners with operations to achieve goals of the organization, which may include budget training, data support, performance improvement initiatives, and productivity training.
  • Performs monthly business reviews with leaders to understand departmental operations, identify barriers to success, and provide data support to leaders to drive operational improvement.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the HealthCare Finance or equivalent field.
  • Preferred experience in Finance, Decision Support, and/or Population Health Analytics.
  • Experience in developing reports using Crystal or an equivalent program, data modeling and business intelligence tools.
  • Working knowledge of insurance programs is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products – specifically Excel and Access and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge/experience with analytics in data warehouse environment.
  • Experience working with managed care enrollment and claims data.
  • Experience in healthcare analytics/informatics and report development.
  • Experience with advanced data visualization tools.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently within a complex organizational setting.

  • Shift: Days- 9:00a - 5p M-F
  • Office Location: Harvey, IL (Ingalls Memorial Hospital), Hybrid remote - at least 2 days a week expected in office (Tuesday and Thursday)
